It had been a while since Kon had gone on a date. If that's what this was. He'd like it to be one, but he wasn't sure if that was what Buffy needed. So if he was lucky? It could turn into something. Otherwise, well, hopefully he could at least make her smile. Have a night where she didn't regret being alive. He was Superboy. If he couldn't make a woman feel good, what was the point of even being a superhero? Besides saving lives and all that. That was probably good.

He'd combed his hair and made sure he looked good, but picking out an outfit was easy. He was Superboy, after all. He pulled on a fresh S-shield t-shirt. His costume was recognizable, and so much more comfortable and stylish than spandex.

As an after thought, he grabbed a button-down shirt to wear over his normal t-shirt. If he needed to, he could close it and be that much less recognizable.

Time to fly. He grabbed the flowers he'd picked up and took off. A little while later, he arrived at the address Buffy had given him. He glanced at his watch. Three minutes early. Perfect.

Kon's superhearing caught the mumble, and he grinned. "My cousin Supergirl wears a skirt when she flies. Shorts underneath, but still."

He pulled her closer and scooped her into his arms, one arm around her back, the other under her knees. "Comfy?"

Buffy let out a surprised half-yelp as he scooped her up and wrapped her arms around his neck to stabilize herself a bit more. "Yeah, this works. Superboy."

"Great." He grinned at her and took off. "My tactile telekinesis'll protect you from wind and cold and stuff, so if you were worried about that, well, you don't have to."

She clung a bit tighter to him and curled into him. "This is crazy," she muttered, "I've dated vampires and nothing is as crazy as this. I was a little too focused on the insanity of this situation to think about whether or not I was going to get bugjuice on my face."

"Huh? Oh, no, there aren't any bugs this high up, really. I--are you okay?" Kon frowned, looking at her worriedly. "We can go somewhere closer. You dated vampires?"

"I'm fine," she said, refusing to look down. Buffy offered him a sheepish grin. "It's very rare that something is new enough to me to seem crazy. I'll adjust." Her eyebrows shot up and she laughed. "Well, dated one. Erm... Wasn't really dating the other one, more like a steady--.. Um." Trailing off, she let it die. "So you can fly. What else can you do?"

Kon grinned back. "Yeah, I know the feeling. Weird life. Fun, huh?" He let the vampire thing go too. He'd had relationships like that before. Not so fun, usually. And talking about his powers? That was fun. "Well, I got superstrength, invulnerability, superspeed, all that stuff. Oh, and tactile telekinesis. That's just mine. It's how I could balance you like that. Then there's my sight and hearing powers. Heat vision, telescopic vision, superhearing, x-ray vision," he gave her a sheepish grin. "I don't use it outside of crime-fighting, promise."

"If I had half the powers you did I wouldn't have died in the first place," she said, awestruck. "What the hell can't you do? You're like the kid that never quit!" Buffy laughed and hugged a bit closer to him.

"Yeah, well. Then you get to fight people who can break you in half anyway. Man, I hate Superboy Prime." He shook his head and grinned. "I don't have freezing breath! Superman does, but seriously? I'm pretty sure I'm not missing out."

She looked at him like he was out of his mind. Again. She'd get used to it, she guessed, but it was a bit to take in at first. This must be what her friends felt like when she'd told them about being the Slayer. Buffy looked up at him and snickered. "Freezing breath? Way better than garlic."

Kon made a face. "Ew, garlic. Tastes good on bread with lots of butter. Mmm." He grinned for a moment. "My aunt makes great garlic bread. Sorry."

"Good on pizza." She smiled up at him. Buffy thought he was peculiar, a strange sort of guy, but he wasn't bad. "My mom used to..." She shrugged off thoughts of Joyce and shifted in his arms a little. "So how many girls get this treatment, huh?"

He shrugged. "Depends on the girl, you know? I don't like doing things half-way." Unless he was dating them as Conner Kent instead of Kon-El, but that wasn't nearly as fun. He grinned. "Haven't taken anyone to Hawaii since I lived there, though."

"Well, color me flattered," she grinned, wiggling her feet a bit. "Carrying me through the sky like I'm some damsel in distress, just to go on a date? That's one I've never gotten before. Definitely memorable."

"Kind of hoping to avoid the distress this time." Since it happened on far too many dates. It was like danger waited to strike just when he was having a good time sometimes. Kon smiled at her. "What's the fun of having all these powers if I don't show off sometimes, you know?"

"Oh, believe me. I can handle myself. No distress here." Buffy grinned and kicked her feet a little. "I wish I could show mine off, but they're really not much to holler about. I just kick stuff and stab things, all that."

"Eh, my best friend's got zero powers and he still manages to kick my ass pretty consistently when we spar." Kon shrugged. She seemed less worried about the heights, and pretty happy. Both good signs! "So you've got powers?"

"Yeah. I'm The Slayer, after all. Gotta bunch of them, actually. Superhuman strength, speed, agility.. reflexes.. I can heal really quickly, I'm kinda hard to knock off my feet.. Sometimes I have precognitive dreams! It's all fun and good, I guess." She smiled and wiggled a bit. "You're comfy."

Kon grinned. "Remind me to put that in my next personal add. 'Tall, attractive, has superpowers, and comfy.'" He pulled her a little closer in his arms. "That's gotta come in handy. You slay... vampires, right?"

"Oh, so you're going to take me out on a date and turn around to post a personal ad? Thanks, Kon," she smirked up at him, winking slyly. Buffy was only teasing, but she wanted to let him know that she didn't plan to share if this went well.

"Vampires, demons, the occasional Hell-god..." Shrugging, she felt a bit of a chill and hugged a little closer. "It's not all it's cut out to be."

"Hmm, good point. I could add it to my resume instead." That was a good sign. He grinned. "We're almost in Hawaii, by the way."

"Better," she joked. Buffy smiled. "I'm excited. I can't believe my date is carrying me to Hawaii. And flying. I've had some interesting dates, but this definitely takes the cake."

"That's why they call me Superboy instead of... normal boy or something." Kon grinned. "I'm glad you're enjoying it. Man, I love Hawaii. You ever been before?"

"Nope, never been, not once." She grinned and leaned up to place a small kiss to his cheek. "Thanks for bringing me, Kon. I needed to get out of the house."

He smiled at the kiss. Going well and they hadn't even reached the shore! "It was the least I could do. You know. Superhero. Can't resist trying to cheer up a pretty lady." Though it was quickly approaching. Kon landed, still holding Buffy in his arms. "Are you ready for your first steps on island soil?"

"Is this where I do that whole one-leg kick and kissing thing? Or that dramatic 'my hero!' spiel?" Buffy smirked at him with a dash of snark in her voice. "Because I don't know if I'm cut out for the damsel crap. I kill vampires, you know." She grinned and loosened her grip on his neck. "Can't wait!"

Kon laughed and set her down. "As much fun as it is saving damsels, it's way better when the girl can keep up with me. I'm thinking someone who fights vampires fits the bill." He wasn't really comfortable with the killing thing, but ethical arguments tended to ruin dates.

She got her footing fairly easily; the sand wasn't exactly the same, but she was a California girl born and raised. Beaches weren't foreign to her. "Well, then, consider yourself caught up with." Buffy grinned widely and looped an arm with his. "Where to?"

"Right over here." He led her to a small but classy looking diner looking out over the beach. The owner rushed out immediately to meet them.

"Superboy!" he shouted, glaring angrily. "You're going to bring some supervillain here again! Out! Out!"

"Not a supervillain, Jorge, just a date, promise!" Kon held up his hands. "Look, no one'll even recognize me!"

Jorge glared at both of them for a minute, then huffed back to the diner. "Fine. Come on, your table's free."

"Supervillain versus Superboy and Slayer. I don't think he's gonna have a problem," She spoke under her breath. Giving Kon a cute smirk, she placed her hands on her hips for a minute and nodded matter-of-factly. Dissolving into a mini chuckle-fit, she hooked her arm with his again and followed him in.

"This place is adorable."
