Lunch with
angelbuffy (Spoilers for Adventure Comics #7)
Kon's life could get so weird sometimes. Which was, of course, pretty normal for a superhero. Still, it wasn't often his life reached this level of weird. He still felt like he could sleep for a week. But he was also really, really hungry, so he was more than happy to go get food before crashing.
He led Buffy to a really good sandwich place he knew. They could chat about his crazy life and eat good food. It'd be fun. And then he could sleep until the next emergency.

All the talk of high school, then death just made her that much more hungry. If they were gonna talk about such things, they should get some damn food. So that's what they were doing. Not to mention the fact that Buffy was going to eat with a literal superhero....so that fueled it. Sandwiches sounded great, and she was definitely going to order an extra pickle.
She ordered her food, and sat down at a table by the window. What the hell, interesting conversation away.
"Let's talk weirdness, Kon."

"I was a zombie for most of yesterday," he said casually, taking a bite of his sandwich. "Tried to kill my girlfriend and everything."

"You? A zombie? A flesh eating...smelly zombie?" She set her sandwich down. Ew. Zombies. She hated zombies.

Which, when one thinks about it? That's damn interesting. She took in a deep breath, trying to figure out where to start. She wanted to make sure she was up to speed here. Not that that's ever possible considering he's superboy. But still.
"So the only control over yourself that you had was your heat vision? And how do you figure out you have freezing breath? Do you just think it and it goes?" Then her eyes widen. "Did Superman have X-ray vision?"

"A lot of dead people have been rising. And you can't rekill 'em or anything. They just keep fixing themselves unless you blast 'em with a lot of light. And we've been fighting 'em for so long, but they just kept coming, and ripping out people's hearts." He swallowed, looking down. "It's been... pretty awful. But then they decided us previously dead people needed to stop being alive and we got the black rings."
He put his sandwich down and picked up his drink. He blew on it lightly and it frosted, suddenly chilly. "I figured it out when the ring made me use it. I didn't even know I could before then. Not all that different from how I figured out about my heat vision. How come the bad guys are so much better at using my powers than I am?" Kon scowled for a moment, then glanced up at her. "Uh huh. I've had that one for a while too. "

"See, and this is where I'm starting to get the feel that you're in my world. People rising, ripping out hearts... it's totally my forte." She laughed and rested her elbow on the table.
"Because if they didn't have the advantage, then you wouldn't have nearly as much fun figuring it out? Besides, if they weren't so great at it, then you would have never figured out you had them....? I don't know, I find myself at a loss for explanations."
Her eyes instantly widened. Suddenly? She felt as though she wasn't wearing enough clothes. Ever. She needed at least ten more layers. "Uh..... Oh."

"Having Superman mad at you, then his mother? Yeah, I can definitely see why you wouldn't want to do that. So..." She said, giving him a cheeky smile, "What's your favorite ability? My God, you've got enough of them to choose from."

"But generally? Pretty close tie between flying and tactile telekinesis. TTK's the one that's only mine. Superman doesn't have it, no one does but me. And flying, well." He grinned. "Flying."

She nods. "Well, we'll just go with a three way tie? I don't think anything can top flying, you've got originality with the TTK and, you've got something new. Three way tie."
