So, uh, hey, what's the deal with everyone asking for people? Is this like, a day to call home? Or for home to call us? How does that even work?

But she'd share if she could, because aww, Kon.] I hope you're getting a real break and not something that looks like a break but is actually way more stressful than what you left. The Bats better not be getting grimdark on you [there is a wiggly-finger gesture of spookiness to accent 'grimdark'] or anything and ruining it, or I'll have to come there and kiss them on the cheek in front of everyone. [Dire threats to Batdignity if they upset her cousin! She means Bruce specifically, of course, not that she would mind kissing Mr Grayson even slightly.]

[He flashes a grin at that.]

Well, I'd try that method of cheering up Bats, but I think it might make things weird between Tim and me.

[Her grin matches his.] It would be totally worth it. Tim would forgive you. And I'd... well I can't get you pie, I don't think. I guess I have nothing to bribe you with. Corruption prevented thanks to... long-distance! Which is not a good superhero name.

Have I mentioned I'm totally jealous about that pie? Ma's cooking is definitely what I miss most about home. I mean, what they've got here isn't bad, but it's not Ma Kent's food.

Can you come back for a really really quick bite or is that a bad idea? [Multiversal connection points: she doesn't trust them. They get you jetted off into different versions of the Legion of Superheroes and other equally difficult things.]

...I don't know. From what I hear, sometimes people leave for what's supposed to be a few days and come back after much longer, if at all. Then again, sometimes they leave for a year or whatever and it only takes a few days.

So it might be better not to risk it. If you do come back for a visit, though... [She waves a piece of apple pie on a fork as an offer. And then it nearly falls off the fork, so she uses superspeed to rescue it. Best use of superpowers ever.]

Is Krypto keeping you company? [There is a slight exasperated tone in there. Why does that dog dislike her?]

[In answer, there's a loud bark, and Krypto scrambles up on Kon's lap, knocking down the communicator and then going over to sniff at it. Enjoy that big view of a dog's nose, Kara.]

[Kon rescues the communicator and holds it out of Krypto's reach. The dog jumps up and puts his paws on Kon's chest and barks, trying to get it back.]

Down, boy. Sorry, Kara.

It's good your tech is slobber-proof.

Totally necessary with this guy around. But it's been nice having him to keep me company.
