cloned | The big meet-up of doom!

Bernard rolled his eyes. "Temple of Doom was not that good a movie," he insisted. "Especially not when your stupid pet keeps quoting it at you."

"No, no," Kon said. "It's just, well, Young Justice fought a cult about her or something. Heh. Impulse thought he was Batman for a little bit. It was hilarious. Did you ever see..." he snapped his fingers and glanced at Tim. "What's the show called? With the cops and the robbers and stuff?"

Tim stared at him blankly. "I've never watched all that much TV, Kon." He knew that--no he didn't. Damn, he sucked at this.

"Right, you wouldn't know," Kon said. "It was a stupid kid's show anyway." He frowned as he thought, then grinned. "Tugga Hugga Thugees. Really popular for a while. Front for a Kali cult, though. We stopped 'em."

He looked down, more serious. It had almost cost Red Tornado's ex-wife. Which would have meant that Red Tornado would have lost custody of Traya. But Kon didn't want to go into that.

Bernard shook his head. "I remember that show. My mom's friend's kid nearly gutted her after watching it." He shivered. "Little fucker was creepy to begin with."

"Yeah," Kon said, still looking down. "It wasn't really all that funny."

Tim frowned a little. That had been a really crappy time. "I heard about that, actually. Weren't a lot of kids brainwashed or something?"

Bernard shivered, reaching for Kon's hand and twining their fingers together. "A lot," he agreed.

"Yeah," Kon said. He looked down at his and Bernard's hands. "It...was kind of really bad. We stopped it, but it was almost too late."

Tim was glad Bernard was looking at Kon and not him, so he frown a little over his memories. It had almost been too late. For Traya and Red Tornado, and the world. It had sucked.

Bernard tugged on their joined hands, bringing Kon close enough that he could kiss him softly. "You did good, Kon," he said, squeezing his hand. "Alice is fine, and her obnoxious little terror is fine too. You saved so many people." He smiled, stroking Kon's face. "I'm so proud of you," he added, his smile becoming more sardonic, though it was obviously directed towards himself.

Kon nodded and smiled at Bernard. "Thanks," he said. "But let's talk about something else?"

That would be... really great. They were supposed to be having fun, not trudging through stressful memories.

That Tim wasn't supposed to have. This sucked. Kon was right--he should tell Bernard, but...

Yeah. He couldn't go there right now.

Tim forced a smile onto his face. "I believe it's your turn to ask a question, Kon?"

Bernard smiled gratefully at Tim. He hated seeing Kon upset.

"Yeah, Kon. Ask away," he said, pulling Kon's arm over his shoulders so he could press into his side.

"Uhh," he glanced at Tim and shrugged. "Favorite TV show?"

Tim gave him an amused smile. "Well... I still don't watch much TV... But I guess--Law and Order reruns." He shot Kon a quick glare, daring him to tease him for it.

Bernard grinned. "SVU or CI?" he asked. Everyone knew that CI was for pussies. SVU was where it was at.

Kon smirked. "Law and Order? You're hilarious."

Oh, right, secret identity.

"I mean, if it's what you like...not really my thing," he said.

Tim gave him an enigmatic smile. "I'm hysterical. And I'm very old-school. I like the original series, without the extra letters. CI is for wusses, and SVU hits a little too close to home sometimes."

Bernard gave him a suspicious glare. "Are you hiding a traumatic past from me, Drake?" he asked. "You know you have to tell me this stuff so I can fuss over you."

"And I'm gonna come out and just admit that I've got no idea what those letters stand for," Kon said quickly. "Someone fill the guy who prefers stalking werewolves to court dramas what the hell we're talking about?"

"CI is Criminal Intent--yawn--and SVU is Special Victims Unit--where they deal with sex crimes and crimes against kids. And I don't have a traumatic past, Bernard," he added with a wry smile, "but I know a few people that do, and it saps the fun out of that one." Plus--Robin had dealt with more than enough of that kind of stuff for Tim to want to watch it on TV.

Bernard sighed. "This is also depressing! New question time."

"Tim's turn!" Kon said.

Tim made a face. "All right--turnabout's fair play. Your favorite TV show?"
