Kon flew to the roof of Titans Tower, keeping a wary eye out for any flying girls that might want to talk to him.

He saw Tim and grinned. He walked over and held out a hand. "Tim Drake, right? I'm Bernard's boyfriend. You may have heard of me."

Bernard laughed, playing with the fingers of Kon's hand. "No, it does not," he agreed. "Besides, I want three point seven kids. And a dog."

"I hate dogs," Kon said. "Can we get a cat instead?"

Tim grinned broadly, trying to hold back laughter. He remembered how Kon had been with Krypto. "What, you didn't bond with Superdog? You want me to head to the East End and find you a cat? Even the strays are pretty well looked after there, so I'm pretty sure I can find a good one."

Bernard smirked, nipping the edge of Kon's thumb. "Only if we can name it Bart," he replied, hiding his smile behind Kon's hand.

"I think the real Bart might have an issue with that," Kon said, gently running his thumb over Bernard's lips. He glared at Tim. "No, I did not bond with Superdog. You try taking care of a mutt with all the powers of Superman."

Tim raised an eyebrow. "This from Superman's half-human clone? I have no sympathy."

Bernard laughed, kissing Kon's thumb. "I sympathize, babe," he offered, winking at Tim.

"Superman's half-Kryptonian clone taking care of Superman's full-Kryptonian dog," Kon whined. "I deserve sympathy."

Tim gave them both a skeptical look. "One--he's a dog. And two--should I give you two some privacy?"

"A superpowered dog," Bernard helpfully reminded. He gave Tim a sultry look over Kon's hand, nipping at Kon's thumb. "You can stay," he offered. "We're happy to have you watch."

Kon rolled his eyes and moved his hand away from Bernard's mouth. "We'll be good," he said. "And yeah, a dog. With all the powers of Superman. Plus teeth and claws."

"And you have most of the powers of Superman, the apparently awesome tactile telekinesis, and opposable thumbs. I fail to see how you're at a disadvantage," he said, sitting back against the couch and grinning.

"Teeth, Timmy!" Bernard insisted, only pouting slightly that Kon moved his hand. "And claws. Very scary stuff. Too much for Kon's delicate sensibilities." He winked.

"What he said," Kon said. "Plus, my stuff isn't made to be tough enough not to be shredded by superpowered jaws. The dog is crazy!"

"He's probably just lonely," Tim said virtuously. In truth--he had despised Krypto, too, and had kept his door bolted shut whenever the animal was in the Tower, but... It was too fun to prod Kon about this to resist. "Dogs need a lot of attention"

"Did you neglect your pet?" Bernard asked, pulling away and giving Kon a horrified look. "How could you," he continued, shifting towards Tim and leaning up against him instead. He bit the inside of his cheek, trying to keep from laughing. "Shame, Kon. Shame."

Kon glared at Tim and bit back a remark about how much Tim hated the dog. Secret identities were a pain in the ass.

"I did not neglect him," He grumbled. "Superman shunted his dog on me and I occasionally had other things to do. Like homework, or, you know, world-saving. Dog liked Superman better anyway."

Tim shrugged. "Guess I wouldn't know--I've never had a pet." He grinned. "Or had to save the world."

Bernard frowned, thoughtful. "We had a parrot once," he said. "Stupid thing kept saying 'Prepare to meet Kali... In hell!" He rolled his eyes. "Someone kept showing him Indiana Jones movies."

Kon caught Tim's eye and burst out laughing.

Tim couldn't bite back a snicker at that--damn you, Kon. "That sounds... pretty funny Bernard." Maybe funnier if you'd actually seen the goddess in question.

Bernard rolled his eyes. "Temple of Doom was not that good a movie," he insisted. "Especially not when your stupid pet keeps quoting it at you."

"No, no," Kon said. "It's just, well, Young Justice fought a cult about her or something. Heh. Impulse thought he was Batman for a little bit. It was hilarious. Did you ever see..." he snapped his fingers and glanced at Tim. "What's the show called? With the cops and the robbers and stuff?"

Tim stared at him blankly. "I've never watched all that much TV, Kon." He knew that--no he didn't. Damn, he sucked at this.

"Right, you wouldn't know," Kon said. "It was a stupid kid's show anyway." He frowned as he thought, then grinned. "Tugga Hugga Thugees. Really popular for a while. Front for a Kali cult, though. We stopped 'em."

He looked down, more serious. It had almost cost Red Tornado's ex-wife. Which would have meant that Red Tornado would have lost custody of Traya. But Kon didn't want to go into that.
